I wasn’t planning on the main bedroom being the first room we decorated after moving into our new home, but we are delighted with the stylish sanctuary we have created, and I have absolutely no regrets for putting Mum and Dad first for a change!
When designing our bedroom, I knew I wanted to create a space which felt light and calm, with a Scandinavian style and a classic, timeless design. I chose white paint for the walls and floor, and my husband and I painstakingly battened the wall and added tongue and groove panelling, with beautiful monochrome wallpaper featuring birds and foliage above. We inherited some rustic antique wardrobes with the house, which I didn’t love before the makeover, but now think look fabulous against the white walls. Gold metallic accents, layers of cushions and thick floor length curtains give the room a luxurious feel.
When designing a bedroom, the most important factor is to consider how you’re going to create a soothing retreat, perfect for resting and sleeping in. Besides getting dressed in the mornings (well unless you’re fortunate enough to have a dressing room) your bedroom is where you sleep and re-charge for the next day. Colours are important, but your bed should be the star of the show, both aesthetically and practically – it needs to be comfortable, cosy and somewhere you look forward to snuggling up in at the end of the day.
Tielle Love Luxury are a leading British bedding brand, who manufacture and supply the MOST silky-soft, premium bedding to not only over 5000 5* hotel rooms but also to you and me, so we can enjoy a 5* luxury experience at home. To celebrate their fifth birthday, they sent me a duvet cover and pillowcases, plus a flat sheet and pillows to try out along with a few Temple Spa products to aid rest and relaxation. These combined with the 600 thread count bedding and Savoy duck feather and down pillows, would surely give me the best night’s sleep I’ve ever experienced…
The first thing I noticed was how soft the feel of the cotton was against my skin. My husband also remarked immediately on the polished sheen of the fabric. It gives the bed a luxury hotel bedroom look, and how amazing that they can also stitch your initials onto the beautiful oxford pillowcases. Such a nice, personal touch that makes you feel instantly special.
Tielle Love Luxury also offer towels and other accessories such as robes, mattress toppers and throws. I have thoroughly enjoyed sleeping in these sheets – and the extras, like the ‘Siesta Forever’ aromatic candle, and ‘Quietude’ calming mist from Temple Spa are lovely if you use them about half an hour before sleep, perhaps whilst reading your favourite novel, or catching up on a bit of Instagram chat before turning out the light.
Another fantastic feature about this brand is their ethics. They support the ‘Better Cotton Initiative’ which improves the working conditions for cotton farmers and also the environment. This is sure to help you rest easy, knowing you’re helping support this scheme.
It’s almost time to wash our sheets, I am just wondering whether we can turn them around in a day so we don’t have to go a night without our Tielle Love Luxury bedding!
Tielle are offering 20% off all their products on their website www.tielleloveluxury.co.uk with unique code Katatcroftcorner20 until October 20th.
