Living in 2019 can be a little hectic. Whether we’re working mum’s or stay at home mum’s, dad’s with demanding jobs taking us away from home for long stretches at a time, or kids navigating school life, with it’s endless homework, extra curricular activities and energetic friend’s parties – it can often have us feeling exhausted! Most of us grown-ups rely on copious amounts of caffeinated liquid to keep us running on the veritable treadmill of life, but what we all really need is a peaceful night’s sleep to help us wake up feeling energised and ready for the day ahead.
Simba believe (as I do) that if everybody was a little more rested, the world would be a very different place. We would feel happier, healthier and more productive.
I was so fortunate to be able to give my five year old daughter, Molly, the gift of a Simba hybrid mattress recently. Molly is a sleep-lover, just like her mum, and she needs a good few zeds during the night to be on tip-top form for school the next day.
My husband and I have always been fans of a calming bedtime routine, and our girls have had one since they were 8 weeks old. This was the point when I transferred them into their own beds, after co-sleeping with them when they were small (I know not everyone will agree with this, but it worked for us.) They have a bath, followed by a bedtime story, perhaps a few badly sung songs from mum, and then their nightlights will go on, their audio CD’s will play their favourite story, and they will each get a hot water bottle to snuggle up to. One thing we never really considered, however, was how comfortable their mattresses were. Molly had a fairly inexpensive one which was starting to sag in the middle, and usually once a night, we would be woken by her little face at our bedside, with one tale or another about growing pains or a bad dream.
Since she has had her new mattress though, she has stopped waking at night. We go in to check on her on our way up to our bedroom, and she’s always happily snoring away, cuddled up to her favourite soft toy. I think this is due to the five luxurious layers and breathable sleep surface that this mattress provides. I have even tried it out, snuggling up under the covers with Molly whilst she proudly reads me her latest school book, and I admit that sometimes I have a hard time staying awake!
Since children can also be messy, another feature I love about this mattress is that you can unzip and remove the cover for washing.
I would heartily recommend this product to anyone, whether you’re a little child who needs a long sleep after a tiring day of making mischief, a recovering athlete, or simply someone who would like to indulge in the perfect nights sleep. Or of course, someone who likes jumping on their bed!
